The weather in Kuwait is now nice and cool which means it’s time to put on our winter weight and what better destination to satisfy our palette than five star hotel Jumeirah, located on Mesilah Beach. The hotel and spa offers a diverse selection of yummy treats, to find out more we spoke with Food & Beverage Executive Assistant, Manager Mohammed Al-Khatib.
The Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel & Spa restaurants have been busy these past few months, what have they been up to?
We are constantly on the lookout for new and innovative ways to offer guests extraordinary dining experiences. Currently our new Turkish chefs are preparing authentic Turkish cuisine at our special Turkish Nights every Sunday and Monday through-out December in the all-day dining venue Garden Café. For the past few months we’ve also been working on introducing a one-of-a-kind outdoor barbeque experience that is truly reminiscent of classic Southern American grills, which are the first of its kind in Kuwait. Guests can enjoy our Barbeque nights every Wednesday night, next to the pool and beach area.
What are some of the new contemporary additions to the steakhouse restaurant Pepper’s menu?
Our new chef, Daniel Irvine, offers culinary enrichment to our menu of flame-grilled masterpieces through his international experience. Some of his specialties include beef tortellini with smoked potato Purée, seared scallops with sweetcorn risotto and lime chili butter, hearty soup of braised beef, confit duck leg with lentils, spiced cashew nuts, mandarin and anise sauce, and Pepper’s signature mixed grill platter that’s perfect for sharing. For desserts we have delectable caramel and pecan tart with peach compote as well as coffee and cardamom Crème Brûlée.
What sets apart the Italian restaurant, Olio, from other Italian restaurants?
What makes Olio unique is that we follow the true Italian style of having every meal traditionally handcrafted using the freshest ingredients, which are essential to preparing any authentic Italian dish. Quality ingredients are what make a major difference, the dishes are based around simplicity but at the same time overwhelm you with flavors. We have a talented culinary team in the kitchen led by our Italian Chef Rosario Seminatore who has refined his flair for traditional Italian cooking, bringing Italian specialties from the Sicilian countryside all the way to the coast. The ambiance in Olio Restaurant is also a special one; guests can dine outdoors in good weather with spectacular views of our gardens and the Arabian Gulf Sea. An indoor setting provides a cozy atmosphere with Italian inspired interiors, ideal for a comforting meal and conversations with family and friends.
At the moment, we are offering an All You Can Grab Italian dinner experience, with a set menu specially curated and improvised by the chef to offer a full Italian dining experience starting with Italian starters (antipasti), hand-picked pizzas, and live pasta creations.

Ever since our opening, we’ve been serving food inspired from around the globe. Our restaurants are all about savoring innovative cuisine and fine food to provide the utmost heightened pleasure in dining experiences.
With the cooler weather finally here, what tailored events are available at the hotel?
In every restaurant, guests have the opportunity to complement their meal in charming settings, whether it’s next to the hotel’s palm-lined gardens, beach, or somewhere quieter and serene. In terms of events, we recommend the Southern American Barbeque which is set up amidst our signature idyllic surroundings next to the beach and pool area.
With the New Year slowly approaching, what does Jumeirah have planned?
There’s ample to enjoy and experience on this special occasion. Garden Café will be holding a Grand Celebration for families and friends with an exceptional buffet of wide-ranging International favorites. Pepper Steakhouse and Salt Seafood & International Restaurant present elegant five course set menus designed by our gastronomy team. On New Year’s Eve, Olio Italian Restaurant will offer the All You Can Grab Italian specialties, and for the ultimate celebration Southern American Barbeque Nights will keep guests in the New Year spirit all night long in distinct ambiance.
